Donate to the Center for Wild Animal Welfare
Why your donation matters
The Center for Wild Animal Welfare is actively working to improve the lives of wild animals. We're the first organization entirely dedicated to wild animal welfare policy advocacy, and we’re solely powered by philanthropy.
We've already:
Brought wild animal welfare into UK parliamentary debate and secured media coverage in major outlets
Secured the tabling of two amendments which, if they had passed, would have mandated the systemic consideration of wild animal welfare during construction and conservation activities in the UK
Supported an amendment which would have mandated bird-safe glass in new buildings in the UK, and generated positively-framed media coverage (e.g. in The Guardian.)
Presented a policy briefing on mole trapping to the Wildlife Crime and Management Policy team at the UK environment ministry, Defra. We asked Defra to regulate mole traps, which would improve welfare at time of killing for hundreds of thousands of animals
Collaborated with leading scientists to write a policy briefing on wild animal fertility control, which was presented directly to the UK’s Animal Welfare Minister
Advocated for EU animal poison regulations to consider wild animal welfare.
More funding will allow us to continue and expand our activities, focusing on the most neglected and highest-impact opportunities, such as replacing the painful poisoning of billions of rodents with humane fertility control alternatives.
